Margot Rémeau

I'm Margot, a researcher in developmental and educational science. I investigate the mechanisms underlying educational inequalities, in close collaboration with the statistical department of the French Ministry of Education. My research aims to understand how educational inequalities emerge and develop from preschool through secondary education. My work addresses multiple dimensions of inequality, including socioeconomic background, gender, migration background, territorial inequalities, and relative age effects related to month of birth. By integrating several levels of understanding, I seek to identify the mechanisms driving these disparities, such as political and systemic characteristics, children's individual characteristics and their family environments. Methodologically, my research relies on large-scale longitudinal datasets and advanced statistical modeling approaches.

SEM Workshops

I design and deliver training workshops on advanced statistical methods and good practices in quantitative research for researchers, doctoral students, and institutional teams. Workshops cover Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), model specification, latent variable approaches, mediation and longitudinal designs, interpretation of fit indices, reproducible workflows, transparent reporting, and best practices in general statistical analysis.

Statistical Advice & Guidance

I provide statistical advice and methodological guidance for research teams and institutions working with large-scale educational or psychological datasets. This includes support with study design, model selection, SEM, longitudinal and growth models, mediation and moderation analysis, handling missing data, accounting for sampling weights and complex survey designs, robustness checks, reproducible statistical workflows, and interpretation of results for both academic and policy audiences.
